SOCIAL Magazines Acquires St. Johns, Flagler, and Volusia PARENT Magazines.
With a mission to build stronger families the best way they know how, SOCIAL Magazines has announced the acquisition of St. Johns Parent, Flagler Parent, and Volusia Parent from TouchPoint Innovative Solutions, announcing plans to bring the beloved local parenting magazines back to print for the first time since 2020.
The relaunch will begin with St. Johns Parent in May 2026, followed by Flagler Parent and Volusia Parent in the 2026-27 school year. Each quarterly issue will be distributed directly through every elementary school in its respective county—connecting families with helpful resources, local guidance, and community inspiration.
“Parenting is hard,” says Heather Vreeland, Publisher of SOCIAL Magazines. “The internet can be both helpful and hurtful when you’re looking for answers. It only shows you what you already know or what you’re searching for, it doesn’t broaden your horizons or introduce you to new ideas, perspectives, or local support you didn’t even realize existed. If you turn to Google or your social feeds are filled with fear-based influencers with an agenda, you get more and more of that content creating a spiral of worry, tunnel vision, and isolation. Too many moms end up posting anonymous pleas for help online because they don’t know where else to turn. These magazines will be designed to change that. They won’t be filled with patronizing, generic advice but with truly local resources, real solutions, and meaningful stories that help families right here at home. I hope these magazines become the village parents can turn to, giving them a way to help their families while being able to put down their phones.”
Vreeland, whose company is known for its print-first philosophy through publications like St. Augustine SOCIAL and River & Coast SOCIAL, emphasizes the importance of returning to tangible storytelling in an increasingly digital world. “There’s something powerful about holding information in your hands,” she adds. “In a time when our phones often become distractions—and even bad examples for our kids—we want to create something tactile, trustworthy, and local. A magazine parents and children can flip through together, circle pages, tear out ideas, and truly engage with on their own time, over and over again.”
Howard Holley, CEO of TouchPoint Innovative Solutions, says the transition marks an exciting new chapter for the Parent brands. “We’ve always believed in the power of local storytelling to strengthen communities,” Holley says. “In SOCIAL Magazines, we’ve found the perfect partner to carry forward what we built. Heather and her team share our passion for meaningful, high-quality print media—and we’re thrilled to see these magazines return to the hands of local families who need them most. We will continue to publish our EVOLVE publications as well as our recently launched ESTEBANA Magazine.”
Each Parent issue will feature local experts, family-friendly resources, school spotlights, and stories celebrating the good happening in our classrooms and communities. Interactive sections will invite kids to participate too—with art contests, creative prompts, and ways to see their work featured in print.
Through a unique partnership with school districts, Parent Magazines are distributed through every elementary and K-8 school backpack bridging the school-to-home communication and community-to-family connection in one magazine. Together, we can raise a generation who knows their community, values real connection, and feels supported by both their schools and their neighbors.
“Our goal is to be a rising tide for kids to look up to,” Vreeland says. “By highlighting local students who are doing great things and sharing positive school news, we can encourage others to follow their example and build a culture of kindness, effort, and pride.”
With this acquisition, SOCIAL Magazines advances its mission to create more connected communities simply by making good information more accessible to as many people as possible.
