St. Augustine Beaches News Journal becomes St. Augustine Beach RESIDENT Newspaper
The St. Augustine Beaches News Journal is now St. Augustine Beach RESIDENT, a monthly community newspaper mailed to 5,000 homes across Anastasia Island and St. Augustine Beach. Learn about the publication and advertising opportunities
For years, the St. Augustine Beaches News Journal delivered community news, local events and neighborhood information to residents throughout St. Augustine Beach and Anastasia Island. In 2026, the longstanding local newspaper was acquired by Social Magazines and renamed St. Augustine Beach RESIDENT.
The name may be new, but the publication’s purpose remains rooted in the community it serves.
The St. Augustine Beaches News Journal was established in 2009 and published for many years by Cliff Logsdon. The monthly newspaper became a familiar source of information for residents of St. Augustine Beach and the surrounding Anastasia Island communities.
Delivered directly to local homes, the Beaches News Journal shared stories about neighborhood organizations, city government, schools, local businesses, community events and the people shaping life along the coast.
In July 2026, Social Magazines acquired the St. Augustine Beaches News Journal and its sister publication, the St. Augustine Observer. The acquisition marked the beginning of a new chapter for both newspapers while preserving the community-centered foundation built by their longtime publisher.
